8 pounds Density.

Our Mineral 1280 is sonically comparable to Owens Corning 705. It absorbs as much bass, has similar characteristics but costs a fraction of the price.

It is typically used to build bass traps and acoustic panels with a hard frame around it for support, as it is slightly less rigid than Owens Corning 705.

The easiest way to build an attractive acoustic panel is to use 1 to 2 panels of Mineral Wool or Owens Corning 703 and wrap them using our EZ-Wrap acoustic covers

Excellent Acoustical Performance. These lightweight, flexible insulation batts are excellent sound absorbers, efficiently reducing sound transmission.

Lightweight, Low Dust. Easy to handle and fabricate, these insulations are readily cut with a knife. No sawing is required. Clean handling properties help reduce irritation and minimize job clean-up time and expense.

Low Smoke & Flame Spread. These insulation boards have a flame
spread rating of 5 and a smoke developed rating of 0 when tested in
accordance with ASTME 8 , U 723, CAN/U C-S102-M.
Noncombustible. These insulation boards are rated as noncombustible
in accordance with ASTME 136 and CAN -S11 -M
 
Mold Resistant. MinWool-1280 does not support growth
of fungi.
