My name is Scott Dean and I'm a DIYer, musician and recording enthusiast. I live in beautiful Williston Vermont, and this is my home studio. Mineral wools is the poor man's version of Owens corning 703 and 705.
They have the same acoustics and fire rating as Owens Corning 703 and 705 but are less dense. They are ideal for projects where acoustic panels are either framed or the material is placed behind dry wall.
The 3 lbs thickness is used for broad band acoustic panels while our 6 lbs version is ideal for making bass traps.
